Why?
Our aim is to teach students the skills of negotiation and mediation. These soft skills are essential to every professional career. Therefore, we are convinced that it is valuable to learn those skills before entering the labour market.

We emphasize 'learning by doing' by organizing several case sessions throughout the year and following theoretical classes with practice exercises.

LCM Student Association includes members from different disciplines. This multi-disciplinary approach allows students to share the knowledge they have learned throughout their studies and learn from each other.

How?
LCMSA is convinced that to become a good negotiator or mediator, theoretical knowledge does not suffice. Those skills require practice. During our workshops, we analyze the key elements and use these in cases.

These workshops are exclusive to our members: 24 students are carefully selected every year based on their motivation and potential. Each workshop consists of preparatory works, an introduction to the topic, and is then followed by practical cases. Our experienced team provides personal and valuable feedback.

To provide the optimal learning opportunity, we cover diverse topics, ranging from international business cases to mediation in family matters.
The workshops consist of a theoretical and practical introduction to the art of negotiation, an overview of the psychology behind a negotiation, an introduction to mediation, and advanced topics of difficult tactics.

For new members, we offer the Negotiation Track. Each year, 24 students get the opportunity to develop into great negotiators through various learning activities. Weekly classes, two members' weekends, workshops and special events make this track unforgettable. Upon completing the track, the members receive their certificates, recognised by the Leuven Center for Collaborative Management (LCM).

The Competition Track is open to alumni. We send our delegated team to international mediation and negotiation competitions with thorough preparation. Our teams have often realised multiple impressive results!

In collaboration with other student organisations, we offer the Business Games Track. Students are taught the required skills to achieve top finishes in business games. As the Negotiation Challenge is often included, our expertise makes the difference.

Lastly, we host Open Lectures about negotiation-related topics, at least one per academic semester.
Renowned speakers in different niches present their challenges and successes.
